How long does therapy last?
While many counsellors' sessions are fifty minutes, I offer sixty minutes as standard with an option for a longer, ninety minute session.
Normally counselling will last for a minimum of six sessions, however you can continue as long as you feel you need to.
We will have regular reviews as part of your counselling process.
What kind of counselling do you offer?
I use integrative humanistic counselling, based mainly on Carl Roger's Person-Centred Approach, with elements of Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Psychosynthesis and others.
Why Longford Garden Counselling?
As well as reflecting my practice being in a cosy summerhouse in our garden, the word 'Garden' itself is a metaphor for reaching one's full potential through being provided the space and care to grow as a person and flourish.
Do you offer concessionary rates?
I offer a limited number of discounted slots to people on low income and students of counselling and psychotherapy. Please enquire for details.
How much do you charge per session?
From 1st November 2023, the charge per sixty minute counselling session for new clients will be £55. The introductory, up to one hour assessment session, which is not counselling, is free of charge.
